Today we have a devotional from AYA alumni Carley Dudley. Carley led an As You Are bible study while she was in college at the University of Georgia & is an absolute GEM. She’s sharing today about ways that the Lord provides in every season, but particularly in the hard times we go through. I love her encouragement to look for Him in our day-to-day lives, and prompting us to ask Him to show us how He’s speaking to us.

Have you ever felt lost? Today in our devo we look at Luke 15 (the parable of the lost sheep and the parable of the lost coin) and remember that our need for God is constant, and His love and detailed care for us is undeniable.

This week on the podcast we’re talking about John Chapters 9-10. Chapter 9 is all about the man who was born blind that Jesus healed on the Sabbath. We focus on what it looks like to strengthen our faith through steady encounters with Jesus. Chapter 10 is about God as our good shepherd, and for that portion of the conversation we really leaned into what it looks like to remember that we are like sheep, and how to let God really lead us through our tendency to stray.

Our first summer devotional is here! For the whole Summer we’re going to be sharing 5 minute devotionals on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Today Anna talks about seasons & how the Lord can be our constant no matter what we’re walking through.

We’re about 1/3 of the way through the book of John! Today we’re focusing in on the story of the woman who was caught in adultery. But today instead of looking at her, we’re going to look a little more closely at Jesus’ interaction with the Pharisees surrounding this story and what it means for us, and about Him.

(Jesus feeds the 5,000, and walks on water) This week we are looking at Chapters 6 & 7 in the book of John. Jesus’ fame is at an all time high, and a massive crowd is following him. We are going to see 2 signs as well as an important moment from Jesus at the temple. We talk about what it looks like to bring your best, even if it isn’t much, and let Jesus use it. And we talk about what it looks like to abide in him daily.

We’re breaking down 2 main stories today - an unlikely conversation with an outcast, and a miraculous healing of a disabled man followed by a controversy at the Temple. We’re excited to get into the Word with you today!

This week is JAM packed. John Chapters 2-3 are about the beginning of Jesus’ ministry - His very first miracle at a wedding in Cana, His anger at the Temple, and a fascinating conversation with a Pharisee named Nicodemus. You won’t believe how much is hidden in these 2 chapters, can’t wait to dive in with you!

This week we study all of Chapter 1 together - it sets the scene for the beginning of Jesus’ ministry. We get to learn about John the Baptist, and about Jesus’ first 4 disciples. We talk about the Pharisees - who are they and are they all bad? We pulled in all the references from the Old Testament, and really just had a great chat in general. This is just the beginning, but it’s some good stuff! Excited to dive into this with y’all.

Let’s read a book of the Bible together! For the next several weeks we’re going to make our way through the book of John. John is one of the 4 Gospels - meaning it’s an account of Jesus’ life. This week we dive into some background on the book and the author to give us a context for what we’re studying. We read Chapter 1, Verses 1-18 and dug into what it means and why it’s written so differently from the rest of the book. Excited to dive in with yall!

We just wrapped up our Spring worship night tour! UNC > UGA > CLEMSON > USC > BAMA. We had an absolute blast seeing all of you and spending the evening together. We wanted to share the message from the Spring worship night for anyone who missed it, or wanted to hear it again. Dive into Mark 4 with us as we talk about fear and trusting Jesus with our security. Our first ever in-person podcast! It was such a treat to have Anna, Ansleigh and Mallory at my house for this interview. We talked all about the growth of As You Are from thee first bible study today, what it looks like to take big steps of leadership, how our relationship with God can be like a friendship, and several hilarious stories. This week we got to chat with Piper & Lily, who are our most recent founder graduates. We talk all about their first year post-grad and it’s so encouraging! There’s so much good stuff here about what it looks like to trust God, what it looks like to encourage others by sharing what He’s doing in your life, and how to see the things God is doing for us individually and celebrate them. This is such an uplifting listen!

We love our founders!!! These girls are each so incredible in their own ways, and these interviews have been so life-giving. Week 2 of 4 we got to talk with Virginia & Carley. Our conversation was so, so good - on discerning God’s voice, letting Him provide for us in seasons of loneliness, and on post grad friendships. Settle in!

We’re so excited for this series - a chance to talk to the girls who have helped start As You Are and led Bible studies over the past 4 years. In this episode we get to interview the two girls who led the first ever As You Are Bible study - Simms & Lainey! They are still best friends to this day and it was such an honor to chat with them about college, their faith, post grad expectations, community, and ultimately how to practice being PRESENT. We love them!!

This week we get to the heavy hitting stuff - she talks about anxiety in relationships and how to manage those feelings, as well as the actual science behind anxiety, we touch on counseling and on medication, and most importantly how God wants to show up for you in your worry. This is free therapy so take lots of notes!

It’s not easy to talk about, but did you know that since Covid, numbers of college students struggling with anxiety has risen to 60%? More than half of you out there are facing some sort of anxiety, and maybe you don’t have a place to talk about it. We got you. On this episode of the podcast we have As You Are Alumni Virginia Adair interviewing her counselor Alice Churnock surrounding the topic of anxiety.
